Family home in the moorish center of frigiliana.

Casa Morango is a large family home in the moorish center of frigiliana. Three bedrooms which means this house sleeps 5 comfortably.  There’s a 3/4 bed in bedroom 3 therefor 6 people is possible, sharing the 3/4 bed (e.g. Gran and child).

Sat in the moorish centre of Frigiliana this is ideal if you want to spend time in the village and emerge yourself in heritage, a perfect location. Shops, bars and restaurants are all only a short walk from your front door so you’ll never have far to go, but on those days you want to stay at home, the shaded back terrace, the reception area on the ground floor or the roof terrace, with outstanding 360° views all offer different benefits, the later, the roof terrace: private, peaceful and an incredible suntrap for just lazing and taking the rays. I guess what you’d expect from a family home in the moorish center of frigiliana.

Easy access

It’s a 15 minute (max) drive down to nerja, with its beaches, promenades, shops, bars and the famous Nerja Caves. There is no parking outside the house however car access is allowed. Access means that loading and unloading family cases and/or shopping is easily manageable.

Casa Morango was for many years, the village heladería (ice cream shop). Last couple of years the family have moved in different directions. Recent stylishly completed refurbishment provides comfortable accommodation with all the modern facilities required to make your stay enjoyable.

This house sits on 4 levels in total, the stairs were remodeled. They are now easy to climb, no traditionally typical large Spanish steps.

The villa is well situated on the corner of Calle Real and Callejon de Agua. A 4-6 minute stroll through the botanic gardens to the municipal (almost Olympic) swimming pool. Also 4-6 minutes, down to the circumnavigation, with plenty of free parking and then left or right towards the sea or the mountains. Access to Andalusia, internationally renowned for beauty, with frigiliana village as your base, the beaches are 15 mins drive, (€1 hop on bus). The mountains and exploration of the incredible Andalucian country side starts only 10 minutes in the other direction.

House Details

The house accommodation; entrance on the ground floor, where the heledaria was. The owners have made a lovely job converting this space as a meeting / eating / picnic / greeting area, so it’s a delight to sit in. With the front door open, you’ll secure many jealous views. Because, those struggling in the afternoon sun will walk past, searching for; shade, an ice-cream, cold drink, music and a great location to relax and enjoy – your already there!

First Floor

Up the first stairs, to the living area; sofa, chairs, LCD TV, free WiFi, chrome cast. You can watch TV from back home, via android, iPhone, PC or whatever? sent via the WiFi and Chromecast to the large screen TV.

To the front, el comador (dining room) and la cocina (kitchen) are both large open spaces. Unfortunately the photo of the kitchen is a bit shaded.  However, you’ll see there’s plenty cupboard space, work surface, newly equipped: microwave, ceramic hob, fridge freezer, cafe gusto, kettle etc. etc.

There is also a shower room on this floor, additional to the family bathroom, a real must when the whole family wants to get showered changed and ready all at the same time.

Off the dining area, there’s a small front terrace overlooking Calle Real, for me a great place to sit with a drink and watch people (anonymously) as they pass by.

Second Floor

Climb the next stairs and you’re at the bedroom level, which means separation from living room noise, one double (with air conditioning) one 3/4 bed (comfy for one) with it’s own private terrace and twin singles in bedroom 3. All rooms are spotlessly clean, the owner of this house is almost obsessive about cleaning, as many Spanish ladies are. It’s a cultural thing! Also on this floor, family bathroom, again a shower, but a big space, with hairdryer, shelves, mirrors.. it’s all there.

Roof Terrace Access

At the top of the stairs, before the bedrooms, is a utility room, with an antique Spanish butler sink, why would you want to know? because at the back of the utility is a door with access to the roof terrace, most noteworthy, there’s approx 35 square meters of uninterrupted sun soaking privacy. Therefor, if you want somewhere private, peaceful to just soak rays, it’s all here.  Well equipped: loungers, umbrellas, sink, barbecue and food prep area, table and chairs and obviously those panoramic views, how fantastic?

• All prices are for 7 nights (minimum). Payments only accepted in Euros €
• Entry is post 2pm on day of arrival, exit by 10am on day of leaving. If you require an early arrival or late exit, you must ask and have it confirmed by us in advance.
• If the Villa is used by 7 persons a 10€ per night Supplement is added and €15 per night in July or August
• Booking Fee : All prices are subject to a 5% booking fee. From that, we pay taxes & VAT - we also don't like to charge, but the government want their cut, sorry!
• Bookings are Saturday - Saturday from March through to November, other entry exit days may be accepted, but please check with us first.

The house is on Calle Real - the main street through Frigiliana, you can drive through, unpack cases / shopping etc there is no parking in Calle Real itself
